Pension based residency is available to those foreign nationals who receive a lifetime and steady pension of at least US$1,500 on monthly basis.

In addition to the general requirements to apply for residency, the main requirement for the pensionado residency is a letter issued by the pension provider or providers indicating that the applicant receives a permanent and steady pension of at least US$1500 per month. This document/ documents must be authenticated by a Notary Public and Apostilled/legalized for its use in Honduras.

The pension must come from a government retirement program or from an authorized and regulated retirement agency or private company.
